Challenging Your Fat Beliefs: Looking Within
Did you ever notice the people at Weight Watchers who write seem to do better than those who don’t? Some people chalk up looking good and being healthy to good genes. Others, to good luck. Going on a diet is one of Americas favorite past times. While fad diets come and go, the way we actually lose weight and change habits has changed little over the last thousand years. Dr. James Hardeman, an author and a pulmonary disease and critical care physician at St. Jude Medical Center, has an approach to make someone appear younger than their stated age as they grow older. Combined with the brain training techniques outlined in Dick Quis’ Thinking Anew: Harnessing the Power of Belief you will learn how to make your diet permanent, silence your internal critics, challenge limiting beliefs, and change destructive habits. “We need to get serious as a country,” says Dr. Hardeman, “We’re way off track here. One of the things I tell my patients is that it may be difficult, but compared to being a patient in the ICU, it’s a walk in the park.”
This promises to be a memorable lunch and learn program about initiating and maintaining a successful weight loss program. For those who want change fast and easy, the program is also known as The One Day Diet Affair.
James L. Hardeman, MD is the author of Appears Younger Than Stated Age. He is a pulmonary and critical care physician for more than three decades. He is the physician advisor to the Clinical Nutrition Services at St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton and has received numerous awards for excellence in patient care. He has maintained the same weight since age 16.
Dick Quis is an author, fine artist and investment banker – mergers and acquisitions. He is a popular speaker on how to get what you want and the co-author of Thinking Anew: Harnessing the Power of Belief. He helped his best friend, a retired policeman and psychotherapist, document his successful methodology at helping New York City Police Officers deal with the dark side of their profession: suicidal thoughts, post traumatic stress disorder, substance abuse, depression and marital discord.
